How to choose rotary lobe pump and centrifugal pump for products in low viscosity?
2024-12-17
Usually, centrifugal pumps are used for products in low viscosity, < 500cps. Rotary lobe pumps are used for products in high viscosity, ≥500cps.
While for some products in low viscosity, if they are easily to be raised cavitation when pumping, it is recommended to use rotary lobe pump. As rotational speed of rotary lobe pump is much more slow than centrifugal pump, for these products, with rotary lobe pump, they can be pumped much more steadily and continuously. In this way, there will be less cavitation.
